Kaydance loved the end of summer.

The sun was sunny, the winds wisps were cool.

Perfect weather for a picnic.

And today was that type of day.

So Kaydance invited her friend Summer and they began to pack their picnic basket.

Suddenly Apple squealed, "Can’t have a picnic without me!" and jumped into the basket.

Apple then invited her very best friends, Broccoli and Banana. After all, picnics are way more fun with friends.

Then, the girls heard a knock from the fridge.  Excitedly, Orange, Grape and Pear asked to join the picnic and the girls welcomed them too. 

This was turning into the most perfect picnic with Apple's most colorful friends. 

Just as the girls were about to close up the basket, Pretzel and Popcorn shouted from the cupboard, "Wait for us!" And jumped into the basket.

“Hey! Can we come too?" Cheese and Milk asked in unison.  

The girls thought for a second, then placed them in the basket.

Hearing the excitement Pizza, Chocolate and Cookie asked "Where is everyone going?"

Broccoli answered happily and told them about the perfect picnic.

"Can we come too?" asked Cookie

"We never get invited to anything and when we are it's always only for a little while."
